Giveaways(3) - LynxBot manual
DESCRIPTION
Giveaways are a feature of LynxBot in which it reads items from a plaintext file and posts them in the chat when certain conditions are met.
These items are typically some sort of codes or product keys, such as OSBuddy pro membership codes, for which this feature was designed.
On GNU/Linux systems, image-based giveaways are also supported. Each item in the giveaway file is converted into an image and uploaded to ptpb.pw, and the URL of the image is posted in the chat.
There are two types of giveaways:
-
Timed Giveaways
A timed giveaway continually posts items in the chat at a recurring approximate time period, specified by the owner. There is a slight variation in the exact time to make the giveaway more unexpected (±20%).
-
Follower Giveaways
A follower giveaway posts an item in the chat every time the channel gains a certain amount of followers. This is based off TOTAL channel followers. People repeatedly following and unfollowing will have no effect towards the giveaway.
Followers are tracked via the Twitch API, which updates once every few minutes, so items many not be posted immediately.
USAGE
Giveaway settings can be managed through the setgiv command, or by editing the Giveaway settings section of the config file.
The items to give away are stored in the giveaway file.
